Quilting Tip of the Week 4.16.15

Sometimes you run out of storage for your larger yardage pieces. If you store them in another area other than your sewing room, try using index cards in a file box.

Mark the total yardage, place of purchase and date, if washed and a sample of the fabric glued on the card. This is especially good for those larger yardage pieces saved for quilt backs. I also mark the number of the storage box it's in for quick access.

Quilting Tip of the Week 4.9.15

If you pre-wash your fabrics, be sure to open up completely to avoid an abrasion line while washing.

To help prevent tangles, clip of a small triangle of all four corners of the fabric before washing. Try using a mesh laundry bag for washing your small scraps.
