Carolann's Sewing Machine Repair in Minot

It has been brought to my attention that there is a sewing machine/scissor sharping service in Minot. Carolann's Sewing Machine Repair is located at 662 Brighton Hill Rd., Minot and I had the opportunity to speak to Jessie, the man behind the repairs.

He and his son Heath have been repairing all brands of sewing machines--Jessie for six years and Heath for two. If you cannot travel to Minot, Quiltessentials in Auburn is a drop-off location. Betsy shares that "we have a great relationship with Jessie and have received great feedback from his customers."

Jessie says that while they repair all brands of machines, they specialize in Brother and Juki. They also sharpen scissors, including pinking shears, based on $1.00 per inch measured end to end. He will also offer a discount if you have multiple pairs or perhaps your chapter can collect all their dull scissors and process as a group.

A standard cleaning for a home machine is approximately $89.00 and a sewing/embroidery machine combo and sergers are approximately $119.00. (Call or email for more information). The average cleaning/repair is 5-10 business days, but a rush service is available for an additional fee.

Jessie says for any service, he will need your full contact information, machine (of course), cord and foot pedal, zig zag foot and the thread you normally use on your machine. He will adjust your tension to match this, so if you use several types, please let him know. I personally use Connecting Threads thread for sewing, so I would supply him a spool and a full bobbin.

If you plan to drop off at Quiltessentials, please either call him or email to let him know. Betsy will call him once it arrives. He doesn't have a certain day that he picks up machine/scissors at this time.

You can reach Jessie at (207) 312-1424 or email at carolannsrepair@gmail.com

Thanks to Carole and Sue of Classic Quilters for sharing this information with us.
