Ladies, I received an email from a old and very dear quilting friend, Kari Wilburn, who lives on the outskirts of Las Vegas in Henderson. She is very active with her guild and various quilt shops in the area. If you or your quilt group would like to help it would be wonderful. I do not want to post her direct email address, but if you need it, just let me know.
"Dear Quilter Friends Near and Far,
The
outpouring of love and support for our city has been truly amazing and
so very much appreciated. Quilters are a most generous bunch and if you
are looking for another way to help I'm sharing some info.
My
Las Vegas Modern Quilt Guild (LVMQG) is leading a quilt drive for the
victims and families of Sunday's horrific tragedy. Information is posted
on our guild's website https://lasvegasmqg.wordpress.com/quiltsforvegas/ My guild has selected the 10-1/2" (10" finished) Gray Scale (http://cluckclucksew.com/2015/09/grayscale-quilt-block-tutorial.html) and Heart (http://cluckclucksew.com/2015/01/making-heart-blocks-in-multiple-sizes.html)
in white and bright colors, as our signature blocks. I'm attaching a
picture of part of a quilt my guild mate made, as an example. The
arrangement is up to the maker.
If
you or your guild/group would like to make a whole quilt or quilt top,
that would also be most appreciated. The turnaround time is short,
though, and I would need to receive those by November 13th. My LVMQG
guild is requesting the size be anywhere from 48"x 60" to twin size. You
can alternatively send tops/quilts directly to LVMQG with that info
forthcoming on the webpage.
Although the Gray
Scale and Heart are the signature blocks, my LVMQG is accepting quilts
from other patterns, backing, binding and monetary donations. Please
check out the webpage https://lasvegasmqg.wordpress.com/quiltsforvegas/ for details on how to send those to the guild.
Thank you for your continued prayers and support for our city and helping us to see there is good in the world."
Warmly,
Kari Wilburn
