Like many of you, I like to make scrap quilts. This is a perfect opportunity to use up all those leftover bobbin thread for both top and bottom seams. When working with only lighter colors, I tend to use Connecting Threads Silver color thread. It's a bit lighter than gray (or grey!) and blends in most light and medium tone fabrics.
To save time, I like to pre-wind several bobbins of the same color to have them ready to use as they run out. When I have two empty bobbins, I stop and clean and oil my machine and change the needle, if necessary. By taking a few minutes (and a break from sewing) to attend to my machine, I can keep it in tip-top shape!
