Salvation Army "Fiber Fair" in Portland

The Salvation Army will be holding their annual "Fiber Fair" on Friday, May 9th from 9-2 at the Elks Lodge #188, 1945 Congress St. in Portland.

 

This is a great place to pick up goodies to add to your stash. Among the many items they offer are fiber fabrics, magazines, books, templates, yarn, unopened crafts, notions, etc.

Interested in 1" Hexagon Swap?

Some of you may not be aware that I hostess 1" EPP (English Paper Piecing) swaps. In fact, currently I am polling for the themes for our 10th swap!

EPP is just fun--a great project while watching TV, waiting at the doctor's office or anywhere where you have a few spare moments--they practically make themselves!

New Fabric Store in Lewiston

Kelly's Fabric Connection, 808 Main St., Lewiston (on the left, just past Marden's) is officially opened.

I stopped in today to check it out and found only a few bolts of fabrics, but many flat folds, including batiks, for $3.98/yd. The bulk of the fabrics are for home decorating. It's certainly worth a stop in while in the area. An no, I didn't come home empty-handed...

Fabric Supply Fair in April

Time to mark your calendars for the annual fabric supply fair at the High Street Congregational Church, 106 Pleasant St. in Auburn.

The date is Saturday, April 12th from 9-1. Three suggestions=--be early, bring along sturdy shopping bags to take home all your treasures and plenty of small bills

If you would like to do a spring cleaning in your sewing room, you can rent a table for $20. Just remember this fair is for fabric and supplies, not finished projects.
