Area 3 Meeting September 26th in Bethel

Thanks to the ladies of Cross Country Quilters of the Bethel area and Ladies of the Lake of the Rumford area we will be having a fall Area 3 meeting!

The date is Thursday, Sept. 26th from 10-2 at the Bethel Alliance Church, 251 Walkers Mill Rd., Bethel, ME 04217.

Our speaker will be the renown Margaret Solomon Gunn of Mainely Quilts of Love. I'm sure you have all been inspired by viewing her stunning quilts at our own Maine Quilt show. As a professional, award winning longarm quilter, she is also a published author of "Margaret Solomon Gunn: Design Inspirations." Here is a link to her blog

"Zen Garden"

Margaret will be giving us a trunk show of her work, a slide show and a discussion on how she started quilting that turned into an impressive longarm enterprise. She will share tips for your own domestic machine quilting and answer questions on how to quilt for success.

I personally have known Margaret for over ten years and have had her quilt several of my own quilts. Her work is breathtakingly beautiful, especially when you let her have carte blanch to do her own creative quilting.

The theme of this meeting will be "Sew Support For Our Troops." Below you will find a list of items they will be collecting for our troop overseas. Please open your hearts (and wallets!) and bring along several items to add to the comfort of our brave men and women who serve us.
