2018 "Charity Quilt Block Challenge" Pattern Links

There is nothing easier than making string blocks! Make the bleached muslin backing (please wash before sewing) at least 13 1/2" square and trim up blocks to 12 1/2" after pressing. Here is a quick tutorial to make them.

Here are a few links to easy 12 1/2" unfinished quilt block patterns suitable for this challenge. Of course, your favorite patterns are also welcomed.

Here is the link to the challenge guidelines and deadline:

Quilter's Garage Sale August 9th-12th in Lewiston

Denise Schreiber, a member of Classic Quilters of Lewiston-Auburn, will be holding a fabric garage sale on the following days at her home at 68 Harold St., Lewiston:

Thursday, 8/9 from 8-4:30; Friday, 8/10 from 8-4:30; Saturday, 8/11 from 8-4:30 and Sunday, 8/12 from 9-3.

Fabric is sold by the pound. Example-approximately 2 1/2 yds of cotton fabric equals one pound.

Please check back on this posting for any updates before you head out in case they are sold out early and avoid a wasted trip! They are still cleaning out a house of fabric, so stand by for a second sale in the early fall or spring of 2019.

There will be lots of novelty and other quilting fabrics, threads, patterns, books, rulers, yarns and other quilting items. Bring plenty shopping bags for your treasures.
