Maine Quilts Charity Project
WomenHeart: The National Coalition for Women with Heart Disease is devoted to improving the lives of women with and at risk of heart disease.
WomenHeart Scarves Program is for women living with heart disease. These are delivered to women in the hospital or cardiac rehab center after a cardiac event.
These scarves will be kept in Maine and donated to local hospitals and rehab centers.
Requirements for scarves in knit, crochet or weaved form.
They need to be 3"-4" wide and 50"-60" long in the color RED.
Bring them to the Maine Quilt show to drop off.

PTQG Area 3 Raffle Basket-"Christmas in July"
This year's theme for the raffle basket to be donated to raffle alley for PTQG is "Christmas in July".
I will be putting together this basket and if you would like to donate 1/2 yd. pieces of unwashed Christmas prints, Christmas green or red TOT fabrics, please get them to me no later than May 1st.
If your chapter would like to make a basket to donate, the more the merrier! If you would like more information, please let me know.

She will be explaining her process for making quilts- especially memory
quilts
Lunch will be provided
Rather than bringing a quilt block, they are asking for donations
for the Homeless Shelter for Women and Families in Rumford.
They could use the following items:

Maine Quilts Coordinator Needed
Do you love Maine Quilts? Would you like to be a vital part of making sure that Maine’s premier quilt show continues?
Pine Tree Quilters Guild is looking to contract with an enthusiastic individual to take over the coordination of the planning and running of the show as our current coordinator, Callie Lavoie, will be stepping down at the end of Maine Quilts 2018.
This position requires excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills, computer proficiency in the use of email, MS Word and Excel, the ability to work with volunteers, be able to work independently prioritizing work, handling a wide variety of tasks and functions, solving problems and delegating when needed.
Help in learning and executing these duties is available from the PTQG General Board, the Quilt Show Advisory Committee and the many volunteers who also make our show a success. The Quilts of Valor® Foundation has chosen February 3, 2018, as National QOV Sew Day. Quilters from all over America will be asked to gather together and sew for our service members and veterans touched by war. It is time to start thinking about your local sew day. You may want to decide on what blocks you want to make, the patterns you will want to use and friends that will come together to make more quilts in one day than ever before! There will be prizes, sewing and companiionship as you participate in this event! Plan your Sew Day event now!
Event Registration is open now at www.QVF.org."Visit QOVF.org and fill out the easy to use form to complete your registration information. The information WILL NOT be shared with any businesses, companies, etc. -- guaranteed.If you are a QOVF member - please sign-in first and then choose "Current Events" from the drop down "What would you like to do?" menu, scroll down and click on National Sew Day 2018, click on register and follow the instructions. Very easy and quick!

Who can register:
1. If you sew as an individual, register yourself

Each person registered will be assigned a random number and throughout
the day, numbers will be randomly selected and that person, group or
shop will be called with news of their winning prize from one of our
generous Marketing Partners.
