Quilting Tip of the Week 4.30.15

Always take a moment to make your quilt binding at the beginning of your quilt project.Store in a Ziplock bag until the quilting is complete. Having your binding complete and ready will save you time at the end of your project.

Save any leftover binding pieces for use on smaller projects or sew together for a scrappy binding.

New Quilt Shop in Norway--Sew Orchid Designs

Good news! We have a new quilt shop in our area.

Sew Orchid Designs recently opened and will be offering the 10% PTQG discount (check for any exceptions at checkout).

If you have the opportunity to attend the Area 3 meeting in Norway on May 5th, be sure to stop in and visit! As the shop is new, be sure to continue to stop in for more fabrics and accessories.

Their address is 316 Main St., Norway and their phone number is 207-739-2065. Their website will be www.seworchiddesign.com, but is still a work in progress.

PTQG Member's Meeting April 25th

Nothing like driving to Waterville for the meeting and arriving to spitting snow! Not to worry--it was over before we knew it. Our meeting location, Thomas College, was bright and cheery--especially with all the lime green (my favorite color!) walls.

Our speaker was a young and very talented Doug Leko. While giving his trunk show, he rattled off the name of every fabric brand used in each quilt, along with color names. I can't remember what I had for breakfast. Ah, to have a young brain again...

Be sure to check out his website at www.antlerquiltdesigns.com. This patterns are easy to read and come with lots of photos for those of us that are visual learners. Enjoy the photos of his quilts and those of our members in show-and-tell.

This is Doug's first quilt at age 5
